Daily Poetry: Anita Baker (You Bring Me Joy)
Music hath charms to soothe the soul and no better soother than soul-songstress Anita Baker. My recent listening to Yasmine Tamara and her song Cry to Heal made me conversely think of the song Anita Baker belts out in this video clip. Anita Baker a crooner of love songs of celebration instead of heartbreak. You Bring Me Joy, Sweet Love and Come to Me (a duet with James Ingram -1992) are evidence that she deserved eight Grammys she has been lauded to date.
You Bring Me Joy is a really simple song to love. My favorite stanza:
You bring me joy, when I down.
Oh so much joy. When I lose my way, your love comes smiling on me.
No sweeter words would bless my ears than to be referred to as joyful. What romantic prose would be music to your ears?
